And the Featured Artist of the 58th Annual Snake Alley Art Fair Is…Annie!

With a very happy, and “humble-and-proud-at-the-same-time” heart I get to share with you the news of the year for me so far! I have been selected to be the featured artist at this year’s Snake Alley Art Fair in Burlington Iowa. This is it’s 58th year and is a wonderful tradition at a historic landmark: Snake Alley, “The Crookedest Street in the World”. Each year they select an artist to create an art piece that will be featured on their poster, shirts, postcards and more.

For my rendition of Snake Alley, I cobbled together images of Snake Alley, and added as much “Annie” as I could. My squares in the sky, swirls of texture, and vibrant colors that bounce off each other. The effect is a very dreamy and idyllic vision of Snake Alley. I poured my whole heart into this piece, and relished each step of the process. I took about 2 months total- from sketch to finished piece. This will be a very exciting spring watching the art be shared in connection with the art fair, with the culmination on June 15th at the art fair. Guys- I get to autograph posters!

Enjoy some pictures of the final piece:
